Mood Calendar 2.0 is here and ready to disco!🕺 If you're familiar with my first mood calendar, this one works the same way. You just have the added benefit of four daily habit trackers; one in each corner. If you're not familiar, here's how it works!
Through the years I've had various thing-a-day calendars, but what I always felt was missing was the ability to customize, and there wasn't a way to see all my work come together into a final keepsake. So I created them! Each little square in the design is a numbered day, and each column is a month in the year. You can start your calendar on January 1st or any other day of the year; its evergreen and not calendar-year-specific!
Below the main artwork you'll see a key where you can assign your own colors or designs and their meanings, as well as label the four habit trackers. Trackers are labeled to include each month's letter on the 1st (ex. | J | 2 | 3 | ... then | F | 2 | 3 | ... etc.), and each corner has 366 squares to either include leap day or skip it. You could do away with the key entirely and make it a doodle-a-day cal, draw small patterns, write a word of the day, make tiny paintings, or just make it a coloring activity; however YOU want to use it!
Before you get started, it's important to test your materials in the marked strip at the very bottom, since markers and other supplies can work a little differently on an art print (it'll be covered by the frame). I have markers that did work and others that didn't, but in my experience the Sharpie Acrylic Creative Markers (the brush tip ones are helpful with small corners) and Winsor & Newton ProMarker Watercolor Markers are the ones out of my supplies that seemed to work best. Posca and other acrylic markers can work as well.
Once you've completed your calendar, remove the magnet hangers, trim the bottom of the print at the marked blue crop lines, reattach the hangers, and you have a custom piece that memorializes your year and the work you put in!
